You can create a customized Windows 7 installer with the help of the free RT Se7en Lite application. You can add applications, updates, drivers and language packs to the Windows 7 operating system, apply a variety of tweaks, and you can remove Windows 7 features that you do not want.
Getting the RT Se7en Lite installation file of little over 15MB will take little of your time, especially if you are on a high-speed internet connection. Going through the steps the setup wizard presents will take little of your time as well. RT Se7en Lite can be installed on any 32 or 64-bit Windows 7 edition; it cannot be installed on Vista or Server 2008.
There are two tabs at the top of RT Se7en Lite’s interface: RT 7 Lite and About. There is a Getting Started guide in the About tab that you should check out as it explains how to get started with this Windows 7 configuration tool and what tasks you can perform with the application.
To get started with RT Se7en Lite, you will need your Windows 7 installer DVD or the ISO of your Windows 7 installer. After you tell RT Se7en Lite where the ISO is and where you want it to be extracted, the application will start to load your Windows 7 operating system. Once that completes, the Task button will light up and you will be able to choose between several customization options. You can make any change you want (select the Custom option), or you can choose one of the ready-made preset settings (select Safe, Tweaked, or Advanced).
With the help of RT Se7en Lite you can add themes, desktop backgrounds, updates, drivers, language packs, icons, and applications to your Windows 7 installer. You can also enable and disable Windows 7 features and remove Windows 7 components that are of little interest to you. Last but not least, you can create a bootable ISO for an unattended Windows 7 installation.
All the functionality RT Se7en Lite has to offer is provided for free. The lack of a price tag is compensated by the fact that you will see ads in the right hand side of the interface. Cons:
